Subject: Meeting with the Health Dept

Fellow Lions,

    Today, I met with Dr. Icenhower (sp), the head of the St Mary's Health Dept to talk about the Vision Screening Program.  I spent about 45 minutes with him and the nurse in charge of the Health Dept Clinic in L'town.  They were very enthusiastic about helping us get into public programs for small children, specifically the Head Start program and the library programs for toddlers.  I asked for his influence in getting us in the door and he was positive about helping.  I'm going to put together a PPT brief for his staff to be given at a later date. 

    They were also expansive in his praise of our Vision program for the senior citizens, especially the work of Bob Woody and Dave Tuemler.  Mentioned them by name.  I've already requested the PSVSP brochure be printed in Spanish at their request.  No response to that yet.

    Will give a complete report at the March 12th meeting.
