To All to Whom These Presents Shall Come: GREETING KNOW YE that the International Association of Lions Clubs has granted, and by these presents does grant to the Members, whose names are bereunto affixed, and to all regularly elected members and their successors, this Charter fully constituting them a Local Club, under the name and title of The Lions Club of Lexington Park Located at Lexington Park & Patuxent River, Md. with all the rights and privileges given to members of the International Association of Lions Clubs, according to the rules and regulations of the constitution and by-laws of the International Association now in force, or herinafter enacted. THIS CHARTER shall be in full force and effect from the day of the date hereof, and for such time as the Members of the Local Club shall conform to the laws and rules fo the International Association: Otherwise this Charter shall be revoked. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the International Association of Lions Clubs has authorized its President and Secretary to affix their signatures, and caused the seal of the Association to be hereunto affixed this Twentyninth day of January in the year of our Lord 1946. Proclamation WHEREAS, LEXINGTON PARK LIONS CLUB was chartered on January 29, 1946; and WHEREAS, LEXINGTON PARK LIONS CLUB sponsors the annual Southern Maryland Soap Box Derby in June, provides an annual scholarship to a senior at Great Mills High School, conducts blood drives and vision screenings for pre-school children, provides needy people with eye glasses and hearing aids, and sponsors local families at Christmas; and WHEREAS, LEXINGTON PARK LIONS CLUB supports Lions Club District Programs such as Youth Band and Camp Merrick, which is a camp in Nanjemoy, Maryland, that provides recreational activities for diabetic children; it also supports international programs such as Sight First I and II, which strives to rid the world of preventable and reversible blindness; and WHEREAS, LEXINGTON PARK LIONS CLUB has many members who participate in outside volunteer activities such as Meals on Wheels, United Way Day of Caring, providing boating safety training and a variety of other activities; NOW, THEREFORE, WE, the Board of Commissioners for St. Mary's County, Maryland, hereby congratulate LEXINGTON PARK LIONS CLUB on the occasion of their 60th Anniversary and recognize the ongoing care and commitment its members have provided the people in St. Mary's County since 1946.
